- HOW DO I BOOK A TOUR?
On the page of the activity chosen, pick a date, click on the “Book now” button. After going through the online payment process, you will receive an email confirming that we have noted your booking. Then, two days before your activity, you will receive an email with all the practical details (name and contact details of your guide, meeting place and time, dress code, etc).
By email: If you have specific requests, such as a group of more than 6 persons, or if you wish to do a tour on a date that doesn’t appear on our calendar, do not hesitate to send us an email. We will do our best to adapt to your needs and we will take care of the booking.
Please note that we do not take bookings over the phone.
- HOW DO I PAY?
We prefer that bookings be made by credit card on the website. If you choose to pay by bank transfer, you will find our bank details on the “Payment” page.
- CAN CHILDREN JOIN?
By experience, we know that our walking tours in Port-Louis are not adapted to children under 10 years old. It is very hot and tiring for children. For children from 6 to 12 years old, we recommend the treasure hunt in the city. It is a family cultural tour suitable for both children and adults.
For the bicycle tours, children above 12 years old are welcome. We do not have the proper equipment for younger children unfortunately. However, the Poudre d’Or tour can be adapted to children under 12 years old upon request, and all of our encounters/immersions are open to children of all ages.

Less than 48 hours before.

If my Moris cancels your activity.
If we have to cancel an activity because of bad weather (or any other reason), we will offer you an alternative date for the same activity or a full refund of the price paid at the time of booking (in Mauritian rupees, excluding the conversion fees).
- DO WE REALLY HAVE TO START THAT EARLY?
Our tours start early so as to avoid the heat and the crowds. If you wish to book a private tour, we can change the starting time at an extra cost. However, for the tours in Port-Louis, we do not recommend starting after 9.30.
- ARE HELMETS WORN DURING OUR BICYCLE TOUR?
Yes, it’s the law!
- HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU TAKE ON A BICYCLE TOUR?
The safety and comfort of our clients are our priority. We do not take more than 6 persons. The group is always accompanied by two guides, one leading in front, and one following the group.
- WHAT BICYCLES ARE WE RIDING?
The Centurion 15 backfire is a solid and comfortable mountain bike that allows us to zip across the sugarcane fields.
- CAN I ADJUST MY BICYCLE TO MY HEIGHT?
We have bicycles in a variety of sizes for people measuring between 1m60 and 1m85 (5 feet 2 to 6 feet) to ensure the comfort of your trip.
Please note that we have standard sized bicycles for children above 12 years old.
- WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE I AM PAYING?
For the bicycle tours: the bicycle, a helmet, a raincoat, a 50ml water bottle, and a snack.
For the walking tours: A 50ml water bottle and other refreshments and/or snacks (local specialties).
For the immersions: It depends on the activity.
For more information, please check the page of the activity you would like to partake in.
- DO YOU HAVE AN INSURANCE?
We do have a public liability insurance that covers our company.
Do note that before we start our tours we ask our clients to read, fill and sign a Disclaimer form.
- WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT?
First, you will be happy to know that all our guides have a First Aid certificate and know how to react in case of an emergency. But, if necessary, your guide will take you to the closest doctor or medical centre.
- WHEN WOULD YOU CANCEL A TOUR?
Our participants’ security is a big priority. Hence, if a cyclone warning class 2 (or a torrential rain warning) is in force in Mauritius, we have an obligation to cancel our activities.
We always try our best to notify you of any cancellation as early as possible, and to offer alternative solutions.
- HOW IS THE WEATHER IN MAURITIUS?
The weather here is whimsical, to say the least. One minute the sun is shining, the next it’s pouring for ten minutes and then the sun is out again as if nothing happened. That’s why you will see a lot of Mauritian ladies walking with a small umbrella in their hand.
The temperature is always pleasant, between 22 and 26 degrees (71F to 79F) during the day. But in the summertime, it can sometimes go up to 34 degrees! This is why we start our journeys early.
- WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN COMING ON A TOUR WITH YOU?
We suggest you wear comfortable clothes (in cotton preferably) and walking shoes as we walk or ride a lot. Keep in mind that sleeveless shirts and skirts are inappropriate when visiting sacred places such as temples or mosques.
- I AM NOT SURE I AM FIT ENOUGH…
Our tours are designed to cater to everyone.
Carefully read the practical information for each tour, and pick the best tour for you.
If you wish to book a private tour adapted to your physical condition, we can adapt the duration or the itinerary for you.
- I AM TRYING TO PAY ONLINE, BUT IT DOESN’T WORK!
Please send us an email, we will find a solution!
- HOW DO WE GET TO THE MEETING POINT?
We always choose easy-to-find meeting points with parking facilities nearby. In the email containing the practical information, you will receive a map and directions to our meeting place. You will also receive your guide’s contact details. Do call if you cannot find the place or if you are running late.
Please note that we do not provide transportation.
- IS IT SAFE TO EAT STREET-FOOD?
Well, Mauritian people have two great hobbies, eating on the street and talking about politics. They usually combine the two!
But do not worry, the food and drinks we propose on our tours have been carefully selected to avoid unnecessary risks and we do our best to ensure that the food you taste with us is always freshly cooked. But we can not unfortunately offer absolute guarantee.
- IN WHAT LANGUAGE ARE THE TOURS?
All of our guides are bilingual (English and French).
- CAN WE ASK FOR A CUSTOMIZED TOUR?
Of course! Tailor-made and private tours are possible. If you want to celebrate a birthday, or if you are a company and want an activity for your employees, you may send us an email and we will be happy to create something for you!
