Mauritius local experience

Excellent novel experience

As this was my first trip to Mauritius, a "historical and culinary tour of Port Louis" seemed like a great dea.  Our guide for the tour gave us an engaging introductory background and the spots we visited had been thoughtfully chosen for historical/cultural interest. Would recommend this highly as a must-do for first-timers or those who'd like to learn more about Mauritian history and culture.

Excellent novel experience

At my Moris, our passion is to share the riches of Mauritian cultural heritage with you. This is why we are not looking to "make numbers" or to take you on classic tourist circuits. When the participants in our tours send us messages to tell us what they thought of their experience with us, it gives us great pleasure and gives us the energy to continue this great adventure! Here are some of them :)

Extracts of comment on trip advisor

As this was my first trip to Mauritius, a "historical and culinary tour of Port Louis" seemed like a great deal . I arrived at the meeting point which itself was an interesting spot - a local fresh juice shop which the owner said was 20 years old in front of Caudan Waterfront.

Our guide for the tour (along with her assistant) spoke with ease and gave us an engaging introductory background - of the history of different communities in Mauritius and some of the buildings and local sights in Port Louis. The walk around the marketplace was well-paced and it was evident that each of the spots we visited had been thoughtfully chosen for historical/cultural interest.

The street food was varied (mostly savoury with a stopover at a Chinese patisserie) and sumptuous.

The highlight was the stop at the rooftop Pagoda which provided a breathtaking view of Port Louis and beyond. All in all it was thoroughly enjoyable, and a morning well spent (with leftover energy thanks to the great food!)

Would recommend this highly as a must-do for first-timers or those who'd like to learn more about Mauritian history and culture.
